SERVICING

It is recommended that all gas consumers have their gas appliances, including your gas boiler & fire(s) serviced and checked for safety at least every 12 months.

If your gas appliances are not serviced & maintained on a regular basis it can increase the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, caused by gas not burning correctly and producing excess carbon monoxide. Carbon Monoxide is a lethal gas and it is not something that can be detected by sight, taste or smell.

Servicing your gas appliances regularly will ensure that they are safe to use and it will also improve efficiency and performance of each appliance, keeping you safe and your running costs to a minimum.

BOILERS

Combination Boiler (Known as 'Combi' Boilers)

Combination boilers are a very popular form of domestic gas central heating:

• Provides instant hot water when you turn on the tap.
• Delivers mains water pressure.
• No water tank or storage cylinder is required.
• Very efficient & economical to operate.

Condensing Boiler

Condensing boilers are the most efficient type of modern boilers:

• Requires higher initial investment.
• Recycles waste heat & energy rejected into the atmosphere, turning it back into heat.
• Over 90% efficient
• Most types of boiler are available as "condensing" boilers. There are high efficiency combination boilers, system boilers or regular boilers.
• The term `condensing' or high efficiency applies to the technology which is used to maximise boiler efficiency to use less fuel for more heat.

Regular Boiler

Regular Boilers are also known as 'heat only' or 'open vent' boilers:

• Provides heating & hot water from a storage cylinder.
• Requires a cold water storage tank.
• Hot water cannot be provided on demand, it must be stored.
• Low maintenance & reliable system.

System Boiler

System Boilers are also known as 'sealed' boilers:

• Provides heating & hot water from a storage cylinder.
• All major components are built into the boiler.
• Runs more efficiently than a 'Regular' boiler.
• Does not require a cold water storage tank.

WARM AIR CENTRAL HEATING

Modern Warm Air Central Heating systems provide the following:

• Comfortable room temperature is reached very quickly.
• The air is electronically cleaned by an electronic air filtration system.
• Warm air is circulated through the home via discreet vents, leaving plenty of room for furniture!
• Maintain a stable room temperature.
• Good fuel efficiency.
• Usually independent of water heaters although, some warm air systems incorporate a water heater.

WATER HEATERS

Water heaters operate independently of central heating and provide the following:

• Provide instant hot water.
• They do not use electricity and store no hot water.
• Efficient to operate
• Installation in conjunction with central heating boiler.
